The Automobile Club de Monaco is one of the most distinguished automobile clubs in the world and is the promoter and organising authority for many of the most famous events in motorsport. These include the Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo first run in 1911, the Grand Prix de Monaco which dates back to 1929 and is a round of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, the Monte-Carlo Rallye Historique, the Monte-Carlo Grand Prix Historique, and since 2007 the Rallye Monte Carlo des Véhicules á Énergie Alternative.
